About Us

Full Spectrum Social is a registered charity that hosts a series of events for groups ranging in size from 2 to 60 people, all of which can be found on meetup.com. Our events are structured to encourage organic interactions and foster genuine friendships.

As an organization led by Autistic individuals, our communication style and event structure are naturally tailored to our community, creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. New members join us every week through word-of-mouth referrals and our network of affiliates.

Our Values

Authenticity

The Autistic community is generally expected to mask and to tailor our communication style and the way we express ourselves to meet the expectations of a neurotypical world.

Our group provides an opportunity for members to drop the mask and to explore authentic expressions of self in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

At Full Spectrum Social, members are encouraged to be themselves.

Autonomy

We consider the common needs of Autistic individuals when planning our events. This includes addressing sensory issues, such as avoiding loud and crowded environments whenever possible. Additionally, we provide clear event descriptions to our members in advance, offering details about what to expect and precise directions on how to locate the event venue.

This structured approach empowers our members to confidently attend our events independently, facilitating the opportunity to meet new people and cultivate meaningful relationships.

Kindness

We go above and beyond to create a sense of safety within our community, where unique perspectives are not only accepted but also celebrated. We prioritize the emotional well-being of our members and constantly seek opportunities to enhance their quality of life.

Our commitment extends to a zero-tolerance policy regarding ableism, racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, and other forms of discrimination.

Meet the Team

Danielle Pellatt-Hall

Founder, Executive Director & Events Coordinator

I live and work in Toronto with my husband and our cats. A few years ago, I went out searching for places I could meet other Autistic adults.

When I found not a single viable option for myself, I decided to create this group to find connection with other Autistic people.

Our group has been running since 2021 and has seen continuous growth. I hope to one day be able to offer the group its own space for events and drop-in hours.

I am a photographer, rock music aficionado, and cat enthusiast living in the east end of Toronto.

Early on in adulthood I started feeling anxious about meeting new people. When my wife told me she wanted to start a social group for Autistic adults, I wondered what it would be like to be in a room where everyone was on the spectrum.

As it turns out, I've made lasting friendships and learned what helps me enjoy social situations. It's a priority of mine to help everyone feel comfortable at our events.

Living along Toronto's beautiful lakefront, I share my home with a household full of pets – an adorable dog, and two quirky Guinea pigs.

In 2020, I was diagnosed with autism, a journey that's opened up new perspectives and opportunities for me.

Now, I'm on a mission to connect, support, and get involved with our incredible local Autistic community. Life's all about learning, growing, and embracing the unique paths we're on.

I reside in Toronto with my family, including my incredible husband who was diagnosed with autism as an adult. His journey has inspired me to actively support the autism community, one of them which is through this group.

I'm dedicated to driving awareness and being an ally for those within this amazing community where my commitment lies in understanding, acceptance, and making a meaningful difference.
